Welcome to the Department of Anthropology

The Department of Anthropology consists of ten full time academic staff, plus a number of adjunct and sessional instructors. The Department offers two undergraduate programs: a BA in Social and Cultural Anthropology, and a BSc in Primatology. Descriptions of each of these programs can be accessed through the "Undergraduates" tab above.

In addition, the department offers two thesis-based graduate programs: MA in Anthropology and PhD in Anthropology. To date the department has graduated over a hundred and seventy masters and doctoral students. For information about graduate programs in Anthropology, please contact the Graduate Program Administrator.

Note that at the University of Calgary, Archaeology and Linguistics constitute separate departments within the faculty of Social Sciences and can be accessed through their own departmental web sites.
