Doyle Gordon Hatt
Associate Professor Emeritus of Anthropology

Research Interests
Research and teaching interests in social anthropology. Teaches Anthropological Theory, Political Anthropology, Belief Systems, Kinship and Marriage, Ethnographic Survey courses on North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa. Research interests: tribal sectors in modern countries; comparative sociology of Berber-speaking peoples; popular Islam. Ethnographic and linguistic publications on High-Atlas Berber peoples, maraboutic cults and the social theory of Ibn Khaldun.
